Broadleaf Evergreens
Choose your broadleaf evergreens thoughtfully. Many of the species are woodland inhabitants and therefore prefer soils that are full of leaf litter, decomposed bark or wood and, in general, well draining and a lighter texture. They need protection from southern sun and strong winds. These plants are the hardiest varieties, the ones we use for landscaping.
Deciduous Trees
Hand planted each year, pruned individually, and fertilized with low release fertilizers to promote vigorous yet compact root systems. Our trees are adapted to Vermont's climate, handled with care and generally thrive like no others you'll find.
Evergreen Trees
Hand dug and hand pruned evergreen trees, with their diverse needle colour and over all statement when mature, add year-round structure to a landscape. They can be used as screens, living fences, wind breaks and clipped hedges. Berries and cones are an added bonus. There is an evergreen tree for just about every soil type.
Fruit Trees
Growing fruit in Vermont goes beyond just Apples. Depending on your location and conditions you may be able to successfully grow plum, cherry, even apricot and pear trees! Fruit trees and plants also offer choices used for their flowering beauty.
Small Fruits
Fruit plants offer choices used for their flowering beauty. Many bushes can be grown as edible hedges or for the attractiveness of their berries.
Deciduous Shrubs
Each plant is started in containers. When well-rooted, plants are transplanted into carefully cultivated fields, and pruned, fertilized and cared for until they reach landscape size — generally five years.
Evergreen Shrubs
New hybrids with great textures and colors and many of the old fashioned hedge and foundation plants.
Perennials
Grown in Vermont from root division, cuttings and seeds. Hundreds of varieties of plants that are at least 2 years old and have gone through a dormant period.
Hardy, regionally grown Vermont plant material
Superior Plant Material
Our plant material — grown in this region — is superior to trees and shrubs that have been transported from out of state nurseries and have to struggle to adapt to our climate. Our fresh, hardy, locally grown plants are delivered direct from the nursery to ensure the highest quality trees and shrubs available.
